I found this silver artifact about 200 meters on the north side of The Antonine Wall IN Kilsyth, Scotland.
I was using my XP Deus - X35 coil and running the Ultimate program.
The item was about 2'' - 4'' deep on a ploughed and rolled field.
The ''coin'' weighs weighs slighty more than a Queen Victoria shilling.
I don't hold out much hope but any attempt at an identification would be appreciated. The scale on the pictures is 10 millimeters.
Thanks

Ah. Too high a setting on the heat source?
What was the heat source, by the way?
Annealing's perfectly safe (with regards the object, though body parts may be at some risk) if controlled. I did once see a youtube vid of a chap attempting to anneal a delicate hammered with a blowtorch powerful enough to have fused rock and the result was... predictable!
