Etrac on beach

Post by Barbossa76 » Sun Jul 01, 2018 4:49 pm

Hello all, had good day on beach today with ace 250, plenty coinage, also met a fellow detectorist,
Who kindly gave me quick go on the minelab etrac, i was suprised at how light it was, great looking machine, i might even save for one myself, although i did have a explorer in mind, does anyone know
If theres a great difference in depth between them, any help appreciated

Both good machines on the beach and, if we are talking about an Explorer 2, about the same performance. An Ex2 would probably be a much older machine by now though. ::g

hello, the explorer 2 is quite an early detector and both have FBS with 28 Khz bands making both very deep detectors and finding very tiny finds in the upper bands to deep beach wet sands like having more than one detector, i would think on the side of the Safari being still in production and can set up easier than the ex 2, i only used one programme on my safari, coins and jewellery, iron will null out and dig everything else, take it slow and use sounds rather than screen, you might be lucky to get the ex 2 s/h at a good price but make sure in GWO, a s/h safari about £450, good luck

Every machine has its niche. Kind of like pulse induction machines for the wet sand!

hello, well i have a Euro Ace and i did a lot of research before i bought one, it will never replace the safari but a good all round detector, i would have liked a higher Khz but i have made some great finds, but a recent purchase of a Cscope 6 MX will fill the gap of a that extra Khz machine, good luck
