Really good choice in my opinion as a first machine mate. You'll have some lovely days out ::g .

I have had 10 months out of mine before just updraging to a Euroace.

If it gives you confidence I have found things from Victorian silver to a gold ring and my favourite find, a Roman dolphin mount with lots more in between. Dig everything if you can stand it. The 150 does tend to jump about a bit on signals. Lead in particular will jump all over the show but some of my best finds have been lead. The 150 seems to be drastically better the day after heavy rain as well in my opinion. It doesn't like being out in the rain but the day after it will go relatively deep.

Hope you enjoy it.

Best regards
Cheers

Phil

It was my first detector , and it's a great entry level machine. Jumps a bit near electric pylons / fences etc... , but overall a pretty sound choice . Being a Garrett , it's pretty robust too.

I too have just bought my first detector (a Garrett Ace 150) 8 months old with an usual accessories and a year's guarantee left. Can anyone tell me if this guarantee is transferable between owners or just worthless now!! I cannot wait to give this a try round our gardens and then in the fields around (200 acres), all of which have never been searched!! ;))
thanks for reading.
As the Germans 'might' say:-

"SchvinginbleepindigginundFindenstuff!!!"

new XP Deus/11in coil: 1 silver sixpence 1 foot down!! most impressive.
