Hi matey,

Nice job. However I have an ACE250, and am bloody proud of the way it looks better still the way it performs. Last year I found some good hammys and other bits. I say "UP THE YELLOW" :D. PS I also own an E Trac.

I actually like the yellow and black. Remember, some of the top machine manufacturers use yellow and black.....CAT, JCB, DeWalt etc.
I think the yellow/black actually places it in line as a quality colour.

As the new owner of a Gerrett Euro Ace, waiting for delivery today, I found this thread most interesting and helpful. When I ordered my Euro Ace from Regton; it would have been nice to have been asked......"Would you like the cuff in black, or yellow?" "At a small extra cost; would you like to have a volume control added to to the control box?"

Yes, yes please. :D

Just an old codgers thoughts!

If people want to change the colour of their ACE machine they could also try using the plasticote range, its like a rubber paint, it sprays on as a normal paint aerosol but it drys like a rubber film so can be peeled off if needs be. Its about £15 a can though. Im going to probably paint the yellow bits of my 250 soon. ::g

If you do this don't do what I did and get carried away and spray everything black and not wait until the paint was THOROUGHLY dry and basically weld the battery cover onto the control box housing thus completely knackering the lovely work you've done when you have to pry it all open again to change the batteries!

Mind you even ruined it still looks better than that bloody bright yellow livery! :O)

No I agree, I Would be surprised if it did effect the warrenty :-/
I have emailed Garrett and will post back a reply when it arrives :)
Cheers

That's a funny coincidence; I have been pondering doing exactly this over the last few weeks after buying my first tector, the Ace 150.
My only concern was also warranty or re-sale.
look forward to seeing your reply from Garrett, Mrix. All being well, I have the spray at the ready!

Looks much, much better Beany!

Apologies Mrix & all, See you did get an answer from Garrett technical - thanks for that!
I didn't realise this topic made three pages!! Wow! seems lots of us have a view on the yellow 'n' black!
funny really as it shouldn't make a difference.
Guess it's just that Americana, loud and proud with Garretts target market meant for sunny beaches in California etc B-) , not quite the same on a muddy grey field in rainy old blighty!
However; I wouldn't swap our heritage for the world! =))
