Hi robman666 I’ve moved your topic into the bit of the forum dedicated to the detector you are seeking info on. Take a look through this section and you’ll find loads of info on people’s experiences, tips, help, etc.

Enjoy - it’s a great machine ::g

I have a Ace 250 I find it a good little machine on land not tryed the beach as as far as I understand they don't like wet sand so it will depend on where you plan to use it, they are not expencive so a good machine to start with without costing a furtune to find out metal detecting is or isn't not for you. You can always upgrade at a later date as and when you can afford it if you want to

I've had mine for just over a year now and have experienced no issues at all. I've found plenty (but no gold as yet) and i've even had finds on wet sand too. The only change that i've made is to recently buy a new coil for it ( A NEL Tornado).

If you get one, it's a great little piece of kit!

The 250 is a fantastic machine for the money IMHO.
Also simple to use for a newbie, but has the ability to change settings to some degree to suit the conditions once you know what you are doing.

I used mine mainly on pasture. But it coped well with dry sand on the beach.
Normally OK on the wet sand in the South West, but sometimes needed the sensitivity turned down, but I understand it really struggles on the wet sand in some parts of the country where the beaches are more mineralised.

In time if you want it can be upgraded by getting other coils. The Nel Tornado mentioned above is a popular choice and will give better ground coverage and a little bit more depth,

hello, for the extra £ i would look at the Euro Ace, it has a better DD coil and higher Khz more inclined for detecting in UK, i used mine on 1 setting that nulled out most iron and picked up very good signals on other items,
