Inquiry about detector made in Germany!

Post by Dani5 » Tue Apr 09, 2019 9:00 am

I am wondering about the LORENZ deebmax Z1, which is a German-made device. It costs about $ 6,000. It is used in many Arab countries. Some people said that it is excellent. Some say it has some failures. I want someone who has experience or information about this detector.

Quote " It is used in many Arab countries.". That`s probably because only Arabs can afford one. :))

Its not your "usual" detector as its a "specialist detector, and from what information I can find on it , it`s a pig of a thing to master especially in ground containing lots of Iron. IF you did buy one , it wouldn`t be any easy detector to get your money back if you decided to sell it , because not many people have that sort of money to spend on a detector especially one which is not easy to learn how to use. Myself ,I would think very ,very carefully before purchasing one and weigh up the Pro`s n Cons first ..
You seem to be after a really deep seeking detector .If I may ask, what purpose do you have for such requirements,as opposed to say "an average detector".

I'm looking for a detector that reaches a depth of more than two meters, for example a 20x20 copper plate with a depth of more than two meters Friends recommended Lorenz z1.

I`m sure by the reputation the Lorenz has got its quite capable of reaching that sort of depths, but, I would guess at only big Items. And when I say big ,I mean anything above fist size upwards. This is why I asked you what was it you wanted to find in the main.
I`ve never owned a Lorenz nor have I ever used one, but I`d be very surprised if it could detect coins at 2mtr depth. If it could, I`m sure that sort of info would be widely common knowledge by now here in the UK , and many people in the UK would be attempting to get one IF they could afford one that is. But being as I`ve not heard of anyone ever owning one , I`d say they are of the "Hoard Hunter " class where they hunt for only Big targets the type of detector a person who hunts for crashed air or war planes would use . But ! I`d stand corrected if I`m wrong.
I believe they are a Pulse system , now pulse systems have never quite mastered the art of true discrimination ,so they will detect everything thats below you as far as metal is concerned, they may have some " form " of discrimination maybe ,but it won`t be the type you get with conventional detectors, and once you start going over 12"deep even with some sort of concocted discrim on board it ,, the chance of ANY discrimination at over 12" is going to be ziltch. But it would go to 2mtrs to detect ALL Metals.
The info I`m talking about here is based on " Pulse detection "we are aware of ,up to now in general terms.

Just seen your reference to .." a 20x20 copper plate ".
I should imagine the Lorenz Z1 WOULD find that sort of object
