Stainless Steel Scoop Handle Length ?

Post by mrix » Wed Jun 05, 2013 11:54 am

Hello all, I dropped by my local hardware store today to pick up a Handle for my Evolution 360 Scoop!
I managed to find the right size hardwood diameter shaft which was 28mm at a cost of £6 ::g
My question is what is the ideal length to use when using these scoops? I can understand my height will obviously come into the equation but I am worried I may cut it too short :-/
Is there anything to take into consideration, ie: does the handle need to be fairly long to help leverage ????
Thanks all
mrix

Hi my one is 40 inches be careful what type of hardwood you use as some will not last long i use only Ash, a maul handle and alter to suit you can get them on fleebay for about 15.00 and they will last you for years if oiled.

When I'm fitting them I try to keep them as short as possible to keep the weight down, around 1100 mm from floor to top! But I'm only 5 foot 5.

Hi mrix. I've done mine 4 feet. Seems about right for the pro and 360 scoop.
