Help Needed.

Post by Donal1980 » Thu Apr 11, 2019 10:02 am

Hi all, I joined a few weeks ago as I am new to Metal Detecting. Thank you all for the previous chats.

I have been out now 6 times to different fields and twice at a beech, But still, haven't found anything of interest, not even a modern coin. I am using a Bounty Hunter Lone Star Pro.

Have you all any tips for me on what ground to look or locations?

Thank you
D

Casual losses can be absolutely anywhere. You could try waving a ring or coin under the coil to see how well it is detected. It's also worth double checking all of your settings. x;

Where about are you, Donal?
It *may* be easier to meet up with someone locally?

Yes, no one ever lost anything to order. I`m sure they never intended to lose anything in the first place, so you just have to look in the places you`d imagine people will have been at some point in time and obviously, that covers most places . There are of course places where gatherings took place, or Fairs , but ploughed fields and pasture are our main looking area`s so just keep looking is all you can do. Your probably doubting your detectors ability right now ,but some fantastic finds have been found by little detectors such as The Viking range even so it doesn`t always follow that the bigger more expensive detectors with all bells & whistles on board find all the stuff. Just persevere and finds will be made. ::g

What we really need to know is whether or not you are finding anything at all, including junk. If not the probablility is that the settings are wrong. :D Take Easylife's advice and wave the detector over a few targets to make sure that it will actually pick them up. ::g

Best of luck
