Spade-mod 1.0

Post by Jeffdsolo » Thu Feb 21, 2019 10:09 am

Having bought a pair of comfy wellies, I was concerned with the eventual certainty of wrecking them on my spade. So I came up with this mod to help. It's a crude prototype, to test the principle. It's currently working well!
The plastic guard sits snug on the spade, but is not fixed. So when you need to go deeper than a spade depth, you can slide the guard up the shaft.
Version 2.0 will include a 'less bodged' connecting piece at the front and maybe some serations for foot grip.

Well done Jeff, I did a similar thing a while back but only did one left side, where my left welly would fit. Yours looks very well made, blue for boys and pink for ladies? Liam :D

Yes, just a piece of 25mm alkathene water pipe. I cut the slit for the spade with a multitool.
