Hi I haven’t been metal detecting very long ,I’ve got permission for a few fields and and that’s it .Ive tried a lot of farmers etc but with no joy.So Iam looking at a rally. Can anyone point me in the right direction because I’ve read some bad reports on these rally’s ,Also is it mostly males who attend thankyou
As some have said there are good and bad rallies and there are good and bad fields. That said it's only a few months ago that some dectectorists hit the jackpot at a big organised rally. Something like £155,000 hoard. Probably there were some than found very little worth keeping at the same dig.

Have a look for local FB groups that also organise dig. There are several based in the north east. Based in East Durham I attend digs with 4 or 5 of the local groups.

We think there has been a lot of opinions both good and bad said about Rallys, and Rosie can sift through and make an informed decision now
Will close it off now as we will only be going over the same ground
