Exciting - they have more land :D ::g
Hi Everyone
Just an update on how things are progressing. Ok we are very pleased to announce that we have just acquired some more land to detect for the weekend. !!
Its adjacent to our existing fields and are owned by a different landowner. Now his estate manager has informed us he has never allowed detecting on any of his farms. But he will allow a one off event such as ours due to it being for cancer care and children's Leukaemia charities. Again we can not guarantee finds but this land is in an amazing area and the farmer showed me some roman coins he has picked up over the years walking his dogs... Eyes only so hopefully we find other's..
Now we have now sold 500 tickets for this event and we are getting close to being sold out...
So if you have booked but not yet paid then you will not be guaranteed a place.
We will be sending out reminder e-mails and if we get no reply then we will assume you no longer wish to come.
To guarantee a place you must pay for your tickets.
We are going to have a great weekend just like last year and you all did us so proud and We thank you from the bottom off our heart's for your support.
Please find below our original advert telling you how to book

Blast me, bor, I'm sorely tempted.

Oxgirl where did you get that excellent information?.

Since paying for the weekend in the middle of March I have heard nothing (have just double checked that the payment went through!)

Thanks Cath.

I did wonder if it was FB. If you see any other significant news on there it would be appreciated if you could post it on here as a lot of us either do not use FB or only infrequently.

Bob, I have booked for camping.

But Bath is in easy "day trip" range. So like last year at Cirencester it could depend on the weather (I very sensibly head home at night last year!), if its half decent will camp and enjoy the evening entertainment, and odd pint.

You want to enjoy an "odd pint", Evan, you need to try some of the muck I brew. (Fish bones don't quite add the piquancy I was hoping for, it seems. Well, her ladyship's been hunched over various sinks for going on a fortnight, put it that way.) Stops the nagging, I spose, but I digress...

Might be able to swing a weekend pass after all, and meeting up with those I met last year and those I have yet to meet is looking more of a pleasurable possibility than previously thought ::g

Only if Blackadder comes, since he owns the national supply.

It's actually cheaper for me to stay in a hotel than to get my tent, sleeping bag and camping gear on a flight.
Any recommendations for a B&B for Fri-Sun or possibly Monday. ::g
Also the best place to buy a good spade near Junction 18 of the M4. (It will be donated to whoever on the last day) Not getting that back on the plane x; :))

What sort of spade do you prefer? I tend to use a stainless steel transplanting spade. They are not particularly lightweight but you are certainly welcome to borrow one of mine. ::g

Cathy, thank you anyway. (Still think we are going to see you there though -=+:-P )
Fred, I'm from a big family. So when something is offered....you accept it and with a smile of thanks :))
That would be above and beyond to borrow one. The SS transplanting would be brilliant as I'm kinda worried of the ground conditions being hard. (Never really had that trouble were I am)
So I humbly accept. rl; ::g
