Will check my diary tomorrow,could well make this one,trouble is that i attempted too book on another ally provided by the same club,signed up as per instructions but got no reply email back,so even sent a reminder but alas still nothing back.

If i get the same result as before that will probably be the last attempt X(

Was full with all 120 slots taken earlier, and is again now.

Originally did not think that I could make it so had not booked a slot despite it being "just up the road" from me. Then due to a change of events earlier this evening found that I could go so was not impressed to find the dig full ;;z

But stayed on the site and kept hitting "refresh" ...... after about an hour somebody had pulled out leaving a single slot which I rapidly took.

So got in as the last person to register :D

With over 100 people booking for an event, many well in advance, there is always a fair chance that somebody will pull out near the event.

Thanks Liam.

I know that these events are not to everybodies taste; but in my case all my permissions are grass (mainly old pasture and equine) which with the current dry spell around here are like rock, and even if I did detect on them chances are any turf I dug would die however well put back so its either events like this or no detecting as too far from the coast for beaches apart from the very odd 2+ hour each way drive.

I have no problems with rallies, club digs or anything else that allows us all to get out detecting and treats us and the land with respect. I attended two private Digs recently that were first class, our club aims to hold monthly Club Digs and many of our club members rely heavily on these as they have little or no land themselves. I have the 2017 Forum Dig in September and am busy working on that and Evan I hope to be able to include dogs. Will be down to the farmer obviously.
I often work Sundays and so it can be difficult to attend events, otherwise you would see me around.
So good luck to you all, its a great way to meet up with friends old and new, enjoy new surroundings, swap a few tales, enjoy a burger or two and hopefully bag a few nice finds. There are some commercial outfits that fall far short on many counts but LGD seem to enjoy a good reputation, Liam ::g

I know how you feel Saffron... I have a fair bit of land and this time of year land is quite hard and crops are in. Pasture is growing fast but I'm lucky enough if I get the itch to swing a coil then I'm 5 mins from the beaches.

Just seen the land for tomorrow's rally and its nice and rolled ::g

See you there ::g

Return visit on new land.
Please read the description of land. Past digs have unearthed some nice historical finds.
