New Detector here! finally pursuing the passion

Post by Malaki » Fri May 19, 2017 7:45 am

Hello from St.Neots!

Just finally got all of my stuff on order alongside my NCMD card, cant wait to get on the fields and see what awaits below the surface!

always looking for nearby folk or just helpful hints and things to expect on my first outing, im researching the local territories but i think ill start in my yard to get a feel for things.

I noticed theres a St.Neots club too! be great to try and get myself incorporated into that :))

Thanks! glad i finally decided to not wish, and just get started!

Just ordered the Garret ace 250, it seemed like a nice choice for a beginner after watching a ton of reviews and tutorial/field tests :)

Thanks for the warm welcome :D

The model i have en route to my home is a Garret Ace 250 as it seemed like a good beginners detector after watching various reviews and field-tests.

Welcome to the forum iv just started detecting about 4/5 months ago and I started off using my friends ace 250 and I must say it's a brilliant piece of kit iv found relics, coins, silver coins and some bronze age axe heads I would highly recommend the 250 to anyone starting off iv got my own detector now and I decided to go for the ace 300i simply because it had a number display and better iron discrimination. Let us know how your first trip out with it goes and i hope you have plenty of great finds with the 250 you won't be disappointed with it

Welcome to the forum Malaki, even in your back garden there's buried stuff absolutely everywhere. Have fun going out there and digging it all up.

Happy digging and congrats for starting the most rewarding hobby I can think of. ::g

I told my mum i was going to make swiss cheese out of her garden the day i got it, her face was priceless. but not as priceless as what might be under it! =))

I reassured her she wouldnt even know i'd been there, so thatll likely be my first small scale dig, and a good chance to test out the equipment and get a feel for it. i've been told east anglia is a good spot for finds, and after checking backdated maps, found her home was once over open fields so who knows!
