Just started metal detecting again after giving up 20+ years ago but now at the stage where I have a bit more free time to start the hobby again.
I've tried joining the Essex Detector Society but unfortunately it closed to new members so I may try Colchester (based near Chelmsford so not too far to travel). Im going to be ordering a Minelab Equinox 600 (maybe the 800) soon and hope to be able to go on some organised digs later in the year.

Hello Sean, Welcome
It's always a pleasure welcoming hobbyists back to the fold.
If you haven't yet done so, you may like to check-out this link for a 'catch-up' as there have been some significant changes since you were last operating, both in the law and the hobby.
Good Luck and enjoy your time with us on the MDF
