Like many of you I have found hundreds of these (gryphaea arcuata) over the years but never a cluster like this from the clay packed Hertfordshire fields I grew up in. I can count about 6 obvious ones.... a real snapshot of what a few inches square of the seabed must have looked like c. 190million years ago.... quite something.... it made a particularly boring afternoons detecting something very special....
