Partefact Challenge No.2

Post by thefiggis » Thu Jan 31, 2019 4:44 pm

Partefacts - we all find them. Sometimes identification is easy, other times not so and a decent find can be consigned to the scrap bucket simply because we have no idea what it could be.

If we can be more aware of the small details of certain objects then we'll be better equipped to make an accurate ID when we find part of one, so to this end we thought we'd try something a little different.

Images of part of an object are shown below - have a look and see if you think you know what it is. Having made your mind up, you can then click on the "spoilers" which will reveal the item in full.

Like the ID Challenge, it will be an occasional series with past challenges held in the ID Challenge Archive. It's just a bit of fun, no trick questions and the thread will be left open for comment, so if you want to have a go without knowing what others might think then don't scroll down beyond the first post.

Fragments of this example can turn up anywhere - it's made of lead so, being soft, is prone to damage.
