As said in the OP,
In the challenge series some items submitted will be unidentified at the start but some will be known. This one is known and its purpose will be revealed at the end of any discussion when the thread is opened up
So yes, this one had a definitive answer before anyone posted their ideas.

However, when we use an item that hasn't previously been identified then the answer will hopefully be provided by those who submit their ideas, with the majority view providing the "answer". Think of it as a normal ID request but one that's closed off for a while until everyone's had a chance to say what they think it is. Once it's opened up and everyone's ideas are there for all to see, the majority view will be the most likely answer but it's always up for discussion if you disagree, just like a normal thread.

Hope that makes things clearer, but just holler if not ::g

I think you summed it up very well when you said it had to be handled for a more difinitve answer, also you said good info and good images make for a better ID

Well done thefiggis for taking the time to do the challenge

Yeah, and I want a heavily-iced quadruple gin served by Nicole Kidman who then slinks off a little way before looking invitingly over her shoulder with a knowing smile...

Blimey. Hot in here. innit?
