Alter 71 has arrived!

Post by bigjohnox » Mon Oct 21, 2019 12:40 pm

Blimey, what a machine. Delivered safely from Rutus up north of me (I live in Poland). Waiting for a trip out to a piece of land in a close-by town - I have been approved by the Mayor to check their lands for historical items to put in the museum. Town history goes back to 12th century.
I'm absolutely chuffed to bits. Hope to upload anything interesting.
Thanks to Tony for help and advice.

Fantastic, good luck with the new machine.

I was out on two digs at the weekend, and there were 2 alter 71's, on Saturdays dig, and 4 yesterday at Whinchester. They are starting to get the recognition they deserve ::g

Well done getting the Mayor's permission! I look forward to seeing what you find - it's appropriate that a Polish machine will hopefully make Polish finds to be placed in a Polish museum - what pleases me most is that you appear to be doing this for the right reasons - recording the history of the area, rather than 'treasure hunting'.But maybe they will let you keep a few of your finds :) Good Luck!

Thanks for the kind words, Phil. It's all about finding, not keeping, for me. Unless it's one of those thingies you have as an avatar! ;)
