Plenty in our Equinox forums and online. You will probably save yourself some grief if you can get somebody to show you how to set it up and use it.

Best of luck. ::g

When altering settings, you have to hold down the cog button for a second or so to enter that settings expert menu .....and hold it down again to exit the expert menu and back into the normal settings .

That last bit done my box in :D

Welcome to the wonderful world of Nox...

If you look to the left hand side of this forum, and scroll down, you will see a section for Minelab, in there is a sub menu for the Nox, and in there you will find the user manual.

Now it is really worth taking the time to read through the manual, while you are waiting for the detector and headphones to charge.

Have fun

If like me you're not a fan of 'online manuals', preferring to have a hard copy for immediate reference, then I recommend this excellent book by Andy Sabisch and available from our very own MDF Shop ::g Good Luck - ss47

And please say equinox... not nox
Also hammered... not hammie

And god...not pink floyd :))

The ‘hammie’ thing especially makes me cringe.

Just responded to a pinpointing query on another machine reminded me to ask where the sweet spot on the 11’ equinox coil is , I’m new to this minelab but I think it’s about where the ‘11’ is written on the coil... is that about right ?

It's not hammie, it's hammy or hammies in the plural! :)

On my Nox the sweet spot is just at the leading edge of the lugs.

Pinpointing takes a while to master. It's probably better to start with the Response Speed on 4 or even 5 to start with. This reduces the signal width and aids pinpointing. However, this setting also narrows the signal so you will have to slow down your swing speed to still hit the faint ones. It also makes sense to increase your hole size a bit when learning to try and avoid mullering good targets.

Once you are happy that you are pinpointing the target every time you can start to reduce the Response Speed and increase your swing speed. ::g

Best of luck.

It will heavily depend upon how you have set up the machine. :D
