As pengles explained its such a useful feature having a pinpoint function, far more used to opt for the ace250 over the 150 because of the lack of pin-point feature on the 150.
If your can push your budget further the 300i would be the better option
To give you an idea, we have sold 10 200i at the MDF Shop and 26 300i direct link here - https://www.metaldetectingauction.com/l ... ras/104212
Best of luck in whatever you decide

the 200i is the upgrade of the 150
the 300i is the upgrade of the 250.
the 400i is the upgrade of the EuroAce
I have a 300i and my son has the 200i.
The 300i has a slightly bigger coil and the added features, the 200i is cheaper and has less feature.
Like everything you buy the best, you can afford and depend on your intended use. if you plan on going once a month and your a newbie try a 200i if you're dead keen, have surplus cash and plan on going a lot get the 400i. if you want a good all-round compromise to get the 300i lol
I dont believe in any thing they say is "set in stone".
I can not imagine using a detector without the pinpoint feature it must be an absolute nightmare locating stuff
I bought the locator package from regtons the pin pointer makes it very easy
5 hours detecting under my belt 1 musket ball a new penny an 1875 silver three pence piece around a kilo of scrap and an aching body
