solving stubble falsing with Q40

Post by under a big sky » Thu Aug 30, 2018 9:10 pm

Just a a quick observation from this morning's detecting through wheat stubble... I was suffering from the common problem of false signals whenever the search head hit a stalk of stubble (which was pretty much all of the time). The stubble was pretty tall - too tall to skim over the top of but by playing around with settings I discovered that when using the jewellery mode the audio from false signals were almost completely eliminated although the false visual signals still showed up on the screen. I was able with jewellery mode to bash through the stubble and keep the coil low to the soil. The small blade coil is ideal for this. I'd like to say that I recovered some interesting finds but alas just a variety of iron items but at least I found a way to cope with stubble trouble! :D
