anyone have any info on the new minelab go pro detectors ?
They are actually called Go-Find ::g
I`ll change your title to reflex that.

They do look very interesting machines from a design point of view B-)
They are also very light and I like how they fold up!

They are only classed as entry level machines so it will be interesting to find out how they actually can perform ::g

from some tests done in russia 4" was the best they could get, personally i think it was deliberately set up that way, but even so.
how deep is a low power VLF going to get?, i'm very surprised to discover that they are VLF, i suppose i thought they would be COMPUTER CONTROLLED PI.
the really interesting thing i saw on a minelab video was the depth is about the same on the 20,40 and 60, the difference in price is relative to the features, so the 60 has more bells and whistles than the 40 and so on.
shame really the market is crying out for a sub 300 dollar PI, so i guess we will have to wait for bounty hunter's new beach toy.
hi all, finally back to full fitness, for those that dont know i had a bad bike crash last july and have been recovering
for those that did, thankyou for your kind words and encouragement.

I saw a transcript of an interview with the Bloke from Minelab (forgot his name) That supposedly said that they graduated in depth i.e. The 60 had more depth, then the 40, then the 20? If I can find the link again I'll post it here.

thanks that would be great, there is lots of foggy info about these doing the rounds.
it would be nice to have some correct info and soil depth tests, air tests mean squat.

Hi there.

From what I heard the 40 and 60 are the same hardware wise. The difference is the software installed allowing the 60 the ability to go more sensitive. Its like being charged to go from v2 on Deus to v3.2
Seems a bit of a con for the £60 extra considering the extras like the headphones, trowel and arm band are all cheap.

Still like the design though, and im sure there will be a firmware hack to allow the 40 to be a 60 soon after launch.

Thanks ::g ::g ::g

Looked all over for that transcript and cannot find it again. However, I did find (Gary Schafer) chatting here - http://en.1000mikes.com/app/archiveEntr ... yId=334972" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; At 27 minutes in - saying he took a Go-Find (I assume 60?) to Puerto Rico and his deepest find was 13" on the beach. Now, that is great going for the cost of these Minelab detectors.
