Bulgaria visit.

Post by muddy fingers » Wed May 20, 2015 1:49 pm

The American distributor (Derek) has announced that he is going to Bulgaria, specifically to meet with the Bisstool manufacturer. As well as doing a bit of detecting he hopes to get some training so that he can have his own service centre for the Blisstool in America. I wouldn't have thought that the Blisstool's circuit board etc was that complicated to repair but maybe it's got something to do with maintaining the warranty. I think our distributor in Wales is able to repair machines or get replacement parts like stems etc. It will be very interesting indeed to hear what Derek has to say on his return. He has promised to do some videos etc.

No doubt some repairs are not too involved. But one area where things could get difficult is related to the huge number of adjustable components (potentiometers) inside. If any of them need recalibration, replacement, etc, some specialist equipment / knowledge would be required.

A similar situation occurs with older Fisher detectors, the CZ- range. They have a mass of adjustments inside, and, apart from Fisherlabs themselves, only one (US-based) guy has the facilities to recalibrate them.

Derek is in Bulgaria now with Ahmed and is going to broadcast a radio show live from there. (The American Blisstool forum has details)

8 p.m. Eastern time in America will be 1 a.m here on Friday, 5th June but it is possible to listen to a recording later on at a time of one's own choosing. Derek also hopes to tour the Blisstool Factory and see the Kibertron Project. It will be very interesting to hear what he has to say about both of those when he returns in a fortnights time. Some videos may also be forthcoming.

Here's a link to three of the videos that Derek Astler made whilst with the Manufacturer in Bulgaria.

" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Not as interesting as I had hoped with nothing really new, in my opinion but good to see that each individual Blisstool is tested actually out on a test bed.This is to ensure it operates at peak performance before it is sent for distribution.

Ahmed mentions the "Blisstool Laboratory" where presumably the machines are made. It would be good if Derek has gone there and made a video but we will have to wait and see.

Well I don't really think that much came out of Derek's trip to Bulgaria to see Ahmed that was of any great interest to UK users, though of course, to be fair, that was never Derek's intention but I was disappointed, never the less.We have already seen so much of that testing ground and it's pre-buried Euro coins whereas I had been hoping to see something of the Blisstool factory along the lines that Garrett show of their manufacturing processes.
