Present for my farmer /he's well pleased

Post by Bencal »

It's that time of year when we thank our farmers for allowing us on their land
This time I thought give him something he could put on his desk as well a a bottle of wine
For his wife
Hope he likes it and yes I did make it myself
Thanks for looking
Bencal

Just called on my way home from detecting and showed him my finds and gave him the present and wine he loved it
His brother was there and He said I could have a go at three new fields that belong to him::g

Could you make me some coins included, for my farmers, i normally give them a signed photo of me detecting their fields, it's probably why they don't speak to me :))

Made from a block of wood see pic for shape and angle
Then rasp and sander for shaping
When it was smooth after sanding I used beeswax for a nice Finnish

One way of stopping the coins falling out is to make the holes the same size as a coin capsule and use one half to cap off the holes.

Great idea and it does look really good ::g

I do like it and think its a great present for your farmer.

However, my first thought was "If that was mine it would soon get knocked and the coins go everywhere!", so I do like f8met's idea to prevent that happening.

Or perhaphs I am just clumsy rl;

I asked if he wanted to have them behind a cover (this is his answer)
he wanted to be able to show them off to his mates and be able to hold them he thinks its
brilliant being able to hold coins that are so old from his own land
he is very interested in the history of his farm ::g
more people that he shows hopefully get some mere land to detect on :D

You could try a tiny blob of Blutac or similar to retain the coins. :)
