Equinox 600/800

Post by sdfuk39 » Thu Jun 13, 2019 8:40 pm

Hi
I'm about to start metal detecting soon and was going to buy either the equinox 600 or 800 as I've read about the benefits of multi frequency MDs. Has anyone had any issues with a recent software update? Some are complaining that the update is bad.
Thanks
Sean

Hi, I have not heard any negative reports? but here's a thing, if you are buying new, then the machine should already have the latest software/update installed ::g

The vast majority of Nox users on here, myself included, that had the Nox before the software upgrade came out applied it and I am not aware of any problems.

Independant video reviews showed that in some circumstances it improved the performance and none that I am aware of indicated any problems.

However Bargeman is spot on u;@ u;@ as if you get a new Nox it should have the current version of the software anyway.

If unsure about the machine just look at all the finds being made by it and reported on here ..... try Easylife's new "9 acre field" post for starters.

I had no problem at all after the upgrade (to be honest I didn't notice any difference). There is a lot of nonsense posted on certain other forums. As said, if buying new you'll have it anyway.

All it takes is one person to have a good productive day, do the update, and find nothing but junk the next time out. They then announce to the world that the update has ruined their machine, and the rumours spread like wildfire across social media...

I had my Equinox before the update, and carried out the update as soon as it was available. To be honest, if there was a problem, I wasn't aware of it, and if that update fixed it, well, I remain unaware of that too!

Hi all
Thanks for reassurance. Looks like I'll get either the 600 or 800.

Cheers

Personally I'd say get the 800 for the WM08 & the extra flexibility of the settings.
