I've ordered one, mainly for peace of mind on rainy days and any potential beach hunts, I'll have to wait for the second batch (around 4 weeks) so if the feedback turns out to be awful I still have time to cancel πŸ˜πŸ‘ will definitely look at doing a proper review when it arrives!

Hold on a minute, it is called the simplex, as in simple to use, it is not trying to compete with the high end machines, it is trying to be the best beginners machine, so in this machine "less is more" also lets look at the price point, is it the same price as high function machines? well, I think we can all agree it is not!

The Simplex is being marketed as a "Beginners detector, that is also suitable for the more experienced detectorist" Nothing more, nothing less. Can you find another machine on the market with all the included specs, for the same price? No, I thought not.

For the price point this is a blinding machine, and one I would think that every detectorist would wish they could have had when they first started out. I for one can't wait to have a swing with one, and I shall be asking Sid, if I can try his next time we are on the same digging field ::g
Agreed, that is why I said "the hype"....I am not suggesting Nocta are marketing that way, but I have seen one or two others doing so...I won't say anymore as it will start to get "brand v brand" which will lead to posts being deleted.

I would be interested to hear if the Simplex runs as "sparky"/"noisy" as the Racer 2 does...I genuinely like my Racer 2 and have found some nice stuff with it, but after 3 or 4 hours of use, I do find it gets quite tiring (concentration wise) because it is quite "sparky"/"noisy"...

I watched an impressive video on a popular detecting Facebook page.

Any machine would have a job to better the visual result which is there for all to see.

I will say no more as I dont wish to rattle any cages.

Happy Hunting,

Jerry.

On raw depth it looks impressive. Other qualities remain to be seen.

I want one. Don't seem to be available anywhere at the moment but it gives me time to sell things to fund it. I think although it's an entry level machine it looks to be quite an upgrade from my eurotek pro. Time to sell sell sell and wait for feedback on here rather than reviews from shops and freebies to youtube folks. Hopefully it will still be shown as a good machine.

I’ve just realised it’s Β£100 more at Β£399 if you want to go modern and wireless.
Not so entry level at 399

Is that just for the headphones? Is it not wireless ready as standard? Or will it only pair with nokta headphones? I'm new to the wireless stuff so not sure how it all works.

Any idea of rough date on the next shipment? I'm frantically trying to sell things to fund it and I have permission from my wife to buy it...Don't want that permission to expire what with Christmas and children's birthdays approaching. :D

Interesting, have they said anything publicly? Do you know what issues they were having in the wet? I presume they will issue new coils to everyone having issues, could well slow down how many will be available over the next month or so?

Coils false signals in the wet. and today some have same problems in the dry.
There was five reported at one club dig at the weekend all had to pack up.
Coils will be sent back for replacement.

Click the make an offer and give your best price, it will be either except or rejected
It won't be much lower than original price I would guess. And see what happens

From what I can gather, you should be able to scan a piece of coke and notch it out, although not sure what else you would lose πŸ˜‰

If it's like the kruzer it will love coke, pretty easy to tell by the tone though. It has that spitting sound att the end .

Is the Simplex a noisy or quiet machine to detect with? I have a Racer 2 which I like very much but it is a very noisy/sparky machine in use....

You want any machine to be a bit on edge , run them silent and you 100% miss many many targets.
It's that edge that picks up the slight quiet signal that makes you go back over the area and get s more positive audio .
Never run any machine safe ::g

I have a Racer2 and now the Nox...On a (near as possible) like for like basis, the Racer 2 runs *a lot* noiser...As you suggest you can run the Racer quieter, but then you miss stuff...I have heard similar comments about the Kruzer and Anfibio so was wondering if the Simplex was the same, or whether Nocta had made any changes???
