Wellies which ones ?

Post by roamingrob » Sun Jan 07, 2018 4:25 pm

Hi all, l am looking for a good pair of wellies and saw some muck boots! As there are a few different types l wondered if anyone on here used them and which ones they would recommend.
I really like the upper part made of neoprene so makes it easy to get them on and of. Also a good sole for digging not thin like some ?
Thanks looking forward to your comments.
Rob

There have been a couple of discussions on here recently including a long term one about Skellerup wellies. ::g

Hi Fred thanks, l went out some time ago with a friend and once on site realised l had forgotten my wellies rl; he had a spare pair of muck boots so l used those, they were good but not sure which ones they were ? He has since moved away from the area.

My Skellerups are brilliant but they do need drying out indoors about once a week. Separating them from the car is a similar disaster to yours just waiting to happen.

Muckboots are excellent but be careful which model you buy as mine now have a hole in the heel ( under part) caused by digging. I hope to repair them with silicone hopefully. I know that there are a couple of models with reinforced soles etc, wish I had done more research.

as stevieb said. the soles dont seem to be as strong as wellies. i was convinced that muck boots were the way forward, and as a warmth thing they are brilliant but now im kind of 50/50. also my muck boots seem to have a more aggresive sole tread, that sems to get clogged up alot quicker. all depends on your ground really.
