Hmmm.. Metal detecting gloves..

Hi all,

I'm looking for a pair of "metal detecting gloves" I'm pretty sure no such thing exists so what do you guys use?
I've tried gardening gloves (too cumberson) I've tried neoprene fishing gloves (too thick and sweaty also finger tips still exposed). I've tried wetsuit gloves (hopeless) and I've tried regular nitrile gloves (cold and tore).

Any advice? I've seen on a few YouTube videos people apear to have gloves on that look a bit like motocross gloves, only thing is I know these to be rather expensive. If this is my best bet, does anyone know of any cheap "Chinese" own brand ones that do ok?

Thanks!

It gets bloody cold when out, so I wear a soft glove on my right hand that has the machine, as it gets no chance of exercise/increased blood circulation. On my left hand, it has been a case of on/off with the other glove, but yesterday I bought a pair of those army type gloves that have a flap over the lower part of the fingers and so allow the fingers to pop out and retrieve a find or sift through the soil. Have not yet tried them but look promising, Liam B-)

Are they tactile enough though? For fingering through the dirt? (pardon the pun!)

My mechanics and tyre guys use gloves as shown above on ebay but they are a little thicker and "woollier" still with the nitrile waterproof coating on the palm side, available from most garage suppliers or good DIY sheds.

I have just bought the 10 pairs for a total of £10.40p, seems a good bargain as I can give some to my wife for when she is doing all the gardening and DIY etc, Liam B-)

I also use the Showa insulated gardening gloves, if you get the right size they are great. Warm with good dexterity and machine washable too

You could try a pair of driving gloves if you prefer the feel of leather!

Ok thanks for all your help, I popped into dobbies on the way home and tried some gloves on, found my favs and had a quick scan on my phone to see if they were cheaper elsewhere (naughty naughty).

They were £13.99 in dobbies, i got them delivered to my door for £5.46 here lol,
