Bought one a couple of weeks ago (the one tested in TH mag), so far the jury is out, i think it would be best suited to very flat conditions like pasture as it defeats the object on rough ploughed.
I personally am thinking about cordless headphones, so i can just lay the detector down when i dig, i've never found swinging a detector in itself tiring though.

Hi, I bought a harness couple of weeks back. They do take a lot of strain off the old back and I find I can do a couple more hours if needed. My only gripe is they do restrict your swing a bit, but the benefits more that outway that! I bought mine from Roy and near enough next day delivery. Cheers.

That will be paul_roy. Look for him on a well known auction site on Metal Detecting section.
