AFAIK they don't do trousers with padded knees built in but do sell trousers with knee pockets and a variety of kneepads that will fit in the pockets so you can pick and choose the ones that suit you.

Workwear Express sell those as would other stockists of work clothes (Arco, Screwfix etc)

Look at these https://www.workwearexpress.com/trouser ... ad-pocket/

Have a look at Scruffs brand from Screwfix or Wickes. Some have knee pad pockets for their knee pad inserts or you could put your own padding in.
The harder I try the luckier I get.

Some even have built in finds pouches but I am not sure what they are like in the rain as I have been eyeing them up for a while.

It is nice to have them in the trousers as I have some DeWalt kneepads which are very good but can pinch the back of your legs. The DeWalt ones can be bought in B&M unbranded but identical for half the price.

Aldi and Lidl often have the work trousers as well.

The only place I have seen with built in knee pad trousers is Unearthed UK, not cheap though.

Dickies from Screwfix work for me, bottom loading pads to stop dirt getting in.

I use knee pads cut down and then shape them with a hot air gun to give a nice fit around, otherwise it looks like your mum has ironed your trousers with the crease on the sides with a couple of planks up your trousers ...lol

I can't use the pads that strap around I find them irritating after a while

I was recently out on a dig where I met a guy who was wearing Viper Tactical Elite Trousers, they were the full camo design type which was not my cup of tea but he highly rated them so I decided to see what other colours they sold ::g

Finally managed to purchase a pair of plain army green and I am more than happy with them ::g
They are very comfortable, they have so many comfort adjustments to your preference and loaded with pockets, they also have very hard wearing knee pads which work very well ::g
Overall very impressed with them, price around £40

Another vote for Dickies with bottom loading knee pad pockets. Used them daily on-site for the last 8 years with not problem or shrinkage after their regular wash. Different styles available, my advice is to get the ones with plenty of zippered pockets.

I wear MMA kneepads under my trousers, they don’t move around and double up as knee supports for my bad knees.

Beware that the cheaper types of trouser tend to have the pockets made from the same material as the main part of trousers ie cotton or polly cotton...

Once you get to around £25 or above in brands like Dickies, the pockets are a nylon or cordura material which is much more hard wearing and worth paying a bit more for IMHO...

Budget option, get a needle and thread and make your own.
With my work cargo trousers, knees wore out within a few months ( too much time grovelling for a payrise ;) NOT!! ). No kneeling down protects my back, which everyone else seems to suffer from.Cut a rectangle out of an old pair, stitched over knee area left top open, actually stitched with fishing line as it is far stronger than cotton. Another added benefit is can put my hands in there to warm up.
By the way, I do my own sewing repairs, make do and mend mindset when you`re skint.
Cheers ::g

Aldi and Lidl also sell the knee pads when the trousers are on offer. I usually get two pair of each usually the brown trousers as the black ones ger too hot in Cornwall in the summer. The pads are great when detecting on the rocks as I don't have to spend time trying to get comfortable before I kneel down.

Got my Dunlop ones from sports direct, cheap and good quality.you insert pads in pockets,I'm using one of my missus's old padded bras lol, just cut the cups off they do the job.also there is a slim side pocket in the right leg that my pinpointer fits in perfectly with a curly lead that clips on to the belt loop.

B&M do some good knee pads if you want the ones you can use for any trousers. They are the same as the dewalt ones from b&q but only £7. I know some people don't like them but I have had my set for around 3 years. I looked at the knee pads built in but I do kneel a lot and it saves covering the trousers with mud so saves the trousers getting too wet and muddy

I don't get this whole kneeling down gig.
I never kneel down while detecting. That's the whole point of backs...they bend.
I remember a bloke on a club dig back in the day watching me dig a hole. He sucked his breath in through his teeth and pronounced that I'd have a bad back doing that. He never did it apparently. (Bent his back and dug a hole, I presume.)
Anyway I said there was nothing wrong with my back. What about his? 'Oooh, no end of trouble with it!' quoth he.
'Hmm...maybe you are the one that's doing it wrong...just a thought!
Meanwhile I had dug my hole, all without the need to kneel down...and moved on. He was standing there chewing over what I'd said.
BTW...If a Man needs knee pads sewing he can sew 'em himself. This is the 21st century. Not the 1940's.

That really made me chuckle . I very rarely kneel down as If truth be known I wouldn`t be able to get back up .
