Batteries for an Old Eric Foster PI?

Post by Pav » Mon Jan 16, 2017 9:38 pm

An old Highpower PI. Has a 12 x C rechargable pack. I guesse cells are 1.2V?, so 14.4V total.
As I have the original charger wanted to know what rechargable cell type are they?

Also considering do I just replace as planned or do I consider a higher spec battery option?
Can anyone advise? Thank you.
Pav.

I think this would eat AA batteries, although I may make a pack up for when I am caught out. I would like to hear someone confirm but I understand you can run these High Power Eric Foster machines a bit higher Voltage than stated :-/

The model is the High Power Goldquest (not the later model that has a lower voltage).
This may help. Thankyou for your help on this.

Thanks. If you find the contact for the person who did the work on yours can you let me know. I have two identical machines and would be interested in upgrading one for coverage.

If I stick with the NiCads what would you suggest re. mAH? Does mAH have an impact on performance or just duration?

Do you have the pics of your mod.
Its such a powerful machine already but every inch puts a new layer of finds within reach.
