Hello mrix, I recently bought one of the 10x13 from spinadisc for my ADX150 and the pin configuration is different. The Mars coil has 8 pins, my ADX150 (its less than 2 months old) has 6 pins. I've messaged spinadisc so I'm sure we'll get it sorted, but I wonder if the later ADX models have different connectors now ? Worth checking.

Hello and thanks for the update, its clearly the wrong connection for what you require and some mistake has been made somewhere along the line unfortunately, I am sure between you Mars and the dealer this will get resolved ok.
If you could please keep this thread updated with anything you know or contact me direct by pm that would be appreciated ::g

So, I had an email from Mars this morning asking me if I had tried to push the connector in anyway, and if not, try it as it will fit. I replied saying I had not tried because the configurations were different, and sent them pictures. I then got an email back telling me to try, it will fit.

So like an IDIOT I did. It bent one of the pins in the ADX connector out of position. When I attempted to bend it back, the pin snapped.

So now my ADX is broken B| B| B| B| B| B| B| B| B| B|

Hi Biffo, that sounds an odd response from Mars, Please let them know you followed through with their instructions and what the outcome was, hopefully they can supply an appropriate and suitable coil for you machine and if not simply ask for a refund.
Cheers

Hi Biffo, It's very odd someone their end would offer that advice :-/ I am not disputing they did but its very strange advice :-O
Hopefully you can get something resolved, I should certainly keep the email offering that advice.
Cheers

Just to "close the loop" on this....

This was finally put to rest a couple of weeks ago (time lag was mainly due postage times from UK to Ukraine and Ukrainian Customs !). MARs had already taken full responsibility for the advice and requested I send my detector to them in Ukraine for repair. But because of postage costs and risks, I sent them the damaged connector instead (easy enough to remove on the latest model ADX's). A couple of weeks ago that came back repaired (they did a top job - hard to tell it wasn't a replacement) and they supplied me with a replacement coil - this looks identical, but the pin configuration in the connector is correct ::g The original one supplied had had the wrong connector fitted at the factory by accident.

I'm going to commend MARs in resolving the situation - they never tried to evade their responsibilities and the communications have been good throughout. Yes, its taken a long time to finally get my detector back working, but given the circumstances I don't think it could have been resolved that much quicker.

I've already emailed them my thanks, but thought I should complete the story on here. Not sure if they get time to scan UK detecting sites, but if they do - thanks again to Kate and Volodymyr ::g

Now to put the coil to good use and go and find something :D
Never a dull moment ;)
