Hi purchased a second hand Adventis 2 I want to put a sef coil on, but the stock coil has been fitted with the new style bolt.
I don't want to drill the new coil incase it voids the warranty, does anyone know the size of the old nut fittings ? is there a universal bolt to fit all? none of the dealers have any old ones on their sites only the new style. :-/

Is the new XP coil bolt too thick for the SEF coil then?

No it looks like the same size, length thickness etc, it's just xp did away with the two washer system and put a plastic (I don't know if it's called a grommet or what)

The idea is to enlarge the coil lug hole and fit the plastic thing in, I don't want to drill a new coil
I surpose I can use the bolt in the stock coil and just fit another washer.

Just wanted a new bolt and wing nut to keep it all tight I'am sure I can cobble something up just wondered if there was a standard size I am not mechanically minded more like Mr Bean meets Frank Spencer.

I've got a GMP with the ultimate coil, I want the ultimate on the Adventis
differantplug size for lower freq models.
How do you find the 15 x12 ?

I dispensed with the plastic thing and got another rubber washer and using the XP bolt and a bigger kind of wingnut it tightened up fine. The 15 x 12 SEF is really heavy so the same will work on the much lighter Ultimate coil I'm sure. They sell rubber washers in Wilkinson's (5 for 99p). I had to trim it a bit as it was thicker than the XP washer but it's working fine with no coil flop.

Thanks for that beauburmmell I 'll go and get some washers
You got my drift with the plastic thing.
Fancied the 15x12 but the weight put me off I have a old shoulder injury which plays up after a days detecting.
Cheers all the best.

No worries mate. I had the Ultimate coil on my old T2, great coil. Good luck.
