Xp150 beach

Post by Nailman » Wed May 08, 2013 3:20 pm

Has anyone used a xp150 on the beach,I have a Goldmax power and didhave a Garrett at pro
After using the GMP I lost faith with the AT, so I sold it.
A fellow club member is selling a 150 he's up grading to a Deus so I know how good they are on pasture, but what is dry damp sand performance like. I realise they will not work on the real wet stuff.

Currently I am hanging my nose over the XP ADX150 and have had some great advice from Nigel at Regton. Like you I will be using it on the beach and I was informed from Nigel that this model has a beach setting and that it can perform very well.

Thanks for that charter man, I would mainly be coinshooting on the dry stuff I missed the one for sale by a fellow club member.
A report by Norfolk wolf on the xp forum rates the machine on the beach.
They are great on pasture especially with the 11 inch coil.

my last detector was the adx 250 & it was fine on the beach, I didn't go to the black sand but it was stable on the normal wet & dry sand. not try'd the gmp on the beach yet :)

Thanks for the last 2 posts, I was looking at a second hand Adventes, if they work on the Humber and are fairly steady on the damp sand then that's my mind made up.
Any advice on coil size, I guess bigger will be better on the low freq
