Help with adx250 and iron.

Post by Southcoastsoftee » Sat Mar 23, 2019 7:27 pm

Evening all, Is it just my inexperience, or am I doing something wrong? I was out on a pasture field this morning and I lost count of all the iron I dug. I’ve only recently returned to detecting. I started again about 3 months ago. I’m getting a little disheartened about it all. If anyone has any tips or ideas I’d love to hear them. Thanks.

Without telling us what machine you're using and settings etc it's impossible for anyone to help.

Yes, sorry, good call. I use an xp adx 250. Sensitively up to max. D1 discrim up to about 1 o’clock, then with a two way signal toggle to D2. If still clean then dig. But I struggle to ‘hear’ the difference if it’s iron. Am I just lacking experience or am I missing something else? I also only detect on clay pasture. Thanks

I don't use an ADX 250 but I'm sure many forum members do. If you edit your post title from Iron to say 'Help with ADX 250 in iron' you should get some help. ::g

This video should be very helpful. The guy shows how to deal with the iron on various XP machines. It's a long video i.e.1 hour 30 minutes. ::g
