Newbie from Kent.

Post by Kentishman » Wed Dec 06, 2017 9:17 pm

Hello All,

I have finally purchased a detector to replace the one that I bought 25 years ago that stagnated in my loft for most of those years. I’ve been out in my garden and have managed to find two military buttons, a key, 17 rusted nails and a gate hinge. I need to get out into the countryside and start detecting seriously.

I would very much like to join up with someone who has some patience who wouldn’t mind some company in return for a guiding hand. I’m male, early 50s and easy to get on with. Is there anyone in my area, Tonbridge, Sevenoaks, Tunbridge Wells, who could spare me some time?

Thanks for reading - here’s hoping.

Hi Kentishman,

I’ve had a detector since 2002 but it’s only really gone as far as my garden, a local wood and friends gardens. It cost me £500 and I’m really keen to start to use it properly, so much so on my Christmas list this year I got a finds bag, a pinpointer and for some strange reason I’ve just bought another metal detector. I’m in my early 50s and I think it’s time to do something about my childhood “dream” hobby. I’m not an expert at how to use my metal detector but I am keen to learn and I would really like to join someone in a similar position. I’m in Bexleyheath, so not too far from Sevenoaks, and I’m good to travel. Let me know if you want to meet up and jointly we could seek out some permissions ......surely there must be some left in Kent 😀

I'd like to join you.
In Poland, I had a team with whom we walked through the fields with a detector, there is no one to whom I could do this and I really miss this hobby.
I live in Maidstone, I do not have my own equipment, but I can buy one.
I am available every Saturday.
I hope to contact

Welcome to the forum and re detecting after 25 years :).

You will surely find someone on these forums that can detect with you and are not too far away.

Just wondering and if i may ask, what detector are you using.

good luck and happy hunting ::g

Hiya newbie from Kent. Have you linked up with anyone yet? I'm just land hunting at the moment. I don't even have a machine yet. I live in Tunbridge wells so if you want to link up once I finally get around to buying a machine I'm game. All the best, Mark.
