Lost engagement ring Ely Cambs

Post by Alexander »

Hello I’ve just joined this forum in the hope that someone could help to find my mums engagement ring which she believes came off whilst gardening in a 4m length of conifer hedge this last week at the bottom of her garden. I bought a cheap detector but am not having any luck. It is especially important as my father died recently and whilst it may not be of huge value, it’s sentimental value is priceless.

Perhaps one of our members close by will be able to help, however if not, I am near Peterborough and will do so at no cost to you or your Mum.
My friend and I can take a leisurely ride across the fens and give it a try for you.
PM me in a couple of days if no one else pops up.
In the meantime keep all the hedge cuttings, weeds etc. so that they can be run over with the detector too.
Best regards.

Hello Alexander, if your mum was wearing gloves get her to check inside them before anyone comes out to search.

Regards Tony.

Update time, Having made contact and arranged a time with a brief description of what the situation was I arrived this morning to help Gill along with her husband look for her mothers lost engagement ring. Now to me being a newb this appeared a fairly simple task, turn up swish the detector around and bobs your uncle....er wrong x; It was lost in the conifer hedge, I broke the Deus down and used the bottom shaft with coil and hand held the remote which was fine but the chicken wire laying in the bottom of the hedge along with a buried electric cable and normal rubbish resulted in my Deus singing a sweet song..not :( Anyway after a bit of button pushing and hedge rummaging I decided to run the hot program as the screen gave me a better idea of what was happening ( bearing in mind this is the 4th time i have used the machine) so after dragging some of the fine dead needles which have built up over a number of years from under the hedge and redoing the area again, bingo a sweeter signal showed and with some rummaging with the pointer a discovery was made, a ring that was lost a week ago with the owner all but accepting it being lost forever made an emotional reunion ::g Thankyou for giving me the opportunity to be of assistance and to the other members who offered their services.

Jason

Great story too Jason, and a nice pic of a satisfied customer. Detecting needs every bit of good PR it can get.
