Todays weather windy as with a hint of gold!

Post by Lowland » Wed Dec 06, 2017 12:26 pm

Live and direct from a coke infested horse field
A glint of gold!
Looks pretty modern and missing some bits
There are hallmarks.,.
But there it is.
Update later if I don’t get blown away
::g
Found using GMP set to dinner time all round.

Well found - be good to see it in its full glory without the soil. I'm jealous that you're out and about as the weather looks set to turn later on in the week.

Great result! Always good to prevail when the elements are challenging! A bit of good stuff warms you inside no matter how buffeted you get.
I love the Dinner time description. I use dinner time on my GMP for most situations. Though I tend to do elevenses for Iron Vol. And also for Ground if I can get away with it.
GMP, Tesoro Invincible, wellies.

Fantastic find, you will have to post the find once it is cleaned ::g

I’m really struggling with my Deus in coke. I’m almost at the point of buying another machine due to the great signals that coke gives in the field. Any tips on how you managed in a coke infested field? ::g

That’s a lovely bit of gold, well done. I like the Hill fort and would be on there all the spare time I had. I’ll be up tomorrow to help😉

Hi, i am also finding a lot of coke with the deus X( had a tip from forum members to use the xy screen so if it shows around 35 and a vertical line on the xy screen I don't dig it. I hope that's right :D I'm new to the deus so still learning. Going to bring a piece of coke home with me do some tests. :-w

After taking your advice ::g
It was just easier to type dinner time for everything
as I was leaning 45 degrees into the wind.

I hear you on that one :)
For coke with the GMP I sometimes use Auto but then come out of it wondering what I’m
Missing :E
Other than that I’m starting to hear the GMP quite well and can quite often hear it’s Coke,but then dig it anyway just to see
Plus it’s gone then ::g
Good advice above about the Deus.
Hope it works for you cos the machine sounds the nuts

If you’re ever up here drop me a pm and we can head to the other side of the fort (
Obviously respecting the integrity of the site and keeping well clear)
where the outlying fort and dried up marshy bits are ::g ...havent tried those bits yet!

Cheers lowland. I doubt I’ll ever get that far north unfortunately but the offers mighty kind. As for you dried up marshy bit.... digging for Britain tonight said bronze tools are normally found in wet areas, possibly from offerings! something like that anyway.
I’ld have a look

That’s my thinking!

I would bet there’s a helluva lot of top drawer artefacts in marshes
