Finds: Charity dig.

Post by Doug » Thu Aug 10, 2017 8:58 pm

I had a invite to a local charity dig last Sunday.

The fields were in winter barley stubble.

Nice one Doug.

That ring, second to last picture, looks very interesting - is it medieval?

Good morning young man, PAS data base give it as a stirrup shaped 13th/15th century ring.

Thank you, ring appears to be a copper-alloy, although I have seen them in gold.

I like the ring....I think the shape of a stirrup ring is very beautiful. Is that a peridot stone?

I think it is, looks to have a touch of yellow in it, very tiny stone.
