Detour on way home bags a beautiful 1895 sixpence

Post by Lowland » Fri Nov 15, 2019 6:01 pm

Evening,
Stopped off on way home for an hour in the very sodden grass,
Every hoof print was filled to the brim with water-the signals sounded great
With the coil zipping over the now nearly flat rough grazing
Managed some lead blobs ,a strange pointy thing and this Really lovely 1895 sixpence with a nice patina-
from the same field as the similarily toned George III and viccy shilling.
In the cold shot you can see the 100 year old grass ,
the coin must have been trodden into the ground with.
Happy days ::g
Good luck if you’re out this weekend

Milled silvers are always nice, more so when they clean up so attractively. ::g

I do love Viccy silver 👍🏼

They told me I’d never be any good at poetry, because I’m dyslexic, but so far I’ve made 3 jugs and a vase.
