Gold brooch cleaned up from yesterday’s windy foray plus found another bit of it!

Post by Lowland » Thu Dec 07, 2017 9:03 am

Here’s the brooch from yesterday’s windy foray

I hunted some more and found the flower bit as ell!

All about three inches down
Lovely little signal
With GMP and nel tornado
Gravelly hard as nails horse field

Looks like a ruby still left in it’s setting.

Hall marks are
Chester
375 or 9 carat
Maker T&G ? ...help!
Date letter is a large curly e in a chamfered corner lozenge
Making it 1905 I think.

The bit I’m happiest with is the machine to my ear to my brain..
Good to have confidence that if you’re listening this machine will find it.

Looking on ebay there are some very similar 9carat set with rubies nd pearls.

Nice brooch. ::g Typical Art Nouveau design and the style is spot on for the hallmark.

Brightened up the day...
However this little paddock has been stacked by me for two sessions previous to this one and given up nowt
Now I’ve got my machine running sweet and my ears are tuned in....there is bits and bobs.
Including a medieval I think belt loop thing and the strangest looking bronze item partefact I’ve seen in a long time.....
Pictures up tomorrow...it’s a real head scratcher..
Cheers lad ::g

Well done on finding the extra piece - did you check the hole for any missing stones?
