I found a lead token today it is a cross and pellet design.
The design looks similar to boy bishop token which were given to the poor by bury st edmunds abbey in the 15C.
I found this item 10 miles away from bury st edmunds.
The token is not quite complete but pattern looks like it could be the same minus the writing around the edge.
I would like this to be a boy bishop token but guessing medieval penny designs were common for all types of tokens.
Would welcome anyone elses thoughts or knowledge.
