Could be to a toy car, but dont you think the finnish would look better/nicer.
Also, it´s heavy. On a toy car that would be 4x30gr=120gr + the chassi of the car.

But now I have 3 different solutions.
- Spindle Whorl.
- Lead Weight.
- Toy car wheel.

Probably a hem weight, to keep the girls skirts down in windy weather! :D

I would also say that its a hem weight, could well have fallen out of one of the farm workers dresses during say harvest time.
You don't find anything sat behind a computer screen.

Thank you guys :-)
Been Googling "hem weight" and looking at pictures.
I can surly see the simularity there.
So a ruff age stamp would be 1800-1900?

Hem weight seems very plausible

It's definitely not a hem weight; they have two holes so they can be sewn into the hem like a button.
It weighs 30 grms which is an ounce, so is likely to be a trade weight of some sort ::g

I'm outside Old Trafford and there's a guy burning small effigies of Rooney and selling them to fans. Oh, hang on. It's a baked potato stand.
