REVISED, Great re tried little permission. Hammereds x 4
This was lightly cultivated about 6 weeks ago and was sitting un disturbed since.
I didn’t realise it was un seeded until yesterday when got on it.
Being small about 1 acre I've decided to do it slowly and methodically ( for me anyway). I did about half yesterday and most of the other today.
I’ve tried it before but never with great success apart from a few crotal bells.
So the tally so far ;
Two broken crotal bell small pieces, m
One broken crotal bell
A good few harness belt fittings
Jews harp( only my second ever)
Lead tokens,
Loom weight
Elizabeth I half groat
Folded Henry III penny
And two other hammereds that are half penny size but cleaning at the mo.
This picture is something I don’t recognise though. It looks like scissor handles, but isn’t
Can’t wait to get back and try for more, going left to right this time slowly and methodically.
All deus hot freq 29.

Re: Great re tried little permission.
Thanks pink floyd.
It’s just standard deus hot.
Full tones
Disc -6.7
Freq 29 ( hf coil)
Always works for me.
It loves small silver and lead. Small silver hammereds are generally shallow (3-5”) and this settings doesn’t miss many. It still works on the deeper heavier things too, but the tone can alMost sound Iron until you start digging it.
Best of luck with it.

Re: Great re tried little permission.
That site certainly has a good mix of history. Love seeing a different type of artefact
And how many silvers from one visit? Four. That was great going, and you were saying you weren’t finding much only recently. Looks like that’s sorted now
Remarkable what a change in weather can do. There’s something about detecting after a frost

I use the HOT programme on 17khz, reactivity at 2.5 on v5.21 with the X35 11” coil

Thanks Oxgirl. Four silvers over two visits of about 3 1/2 hours.Oxgirl36 wrote: ↑Sun Dec 01, 2019 9:58 amThat site certainly has a good mix of history. Love seeing a different type of artefact![]()

I think it’s more to do with me slowing down and walking in lines rather than being a manic butterfly and zig zagging wherever the mood takes. Usually I get drawn back to previous highly Productive areas and avoid this detecting fashion, But the area is small and allows the the time to be taken to do it properly.

Re: REVISED, Great re tried little permission. Hammereds x 4

On left it's Elisabeth I, half groat, London Mint.
For the others you should take better picture.

Re: REVISED, Great re tried little permission. Hammereds x 4
Hot, is just a starting point
It’s working well for you
But you will do better with some small adjustments
Sens at 90 is too low but before you raise it set tx to 3, reduce reactivity to 2 , change the silencer to 0 and raise that audio to 5 , now set sens to 96.. If it’s falsing reduce 1 at a time until it’s fairly stable. But never under 92 .
Never touch ground balance, leave at 90.
Get used to it, you’ll find the things you’ve missed
If it gets too noisy for you or emi is a problem, alter the tx back to 2 or even 1 if you really have to .
