Sleigh bell? Crotal? ID please

Post by Saki » Mon Dec 02, 2019 7:51 pm

Found yesterday. Thanks to Bors and fred,and all the others who answered, i sorted my cast iron problem out. (Well, the small bits. Dont think any M.D. can sort the big stuff)

Anyway, I found this little thing. It's hollow, but full of .... water.

Is it a bell?
Very light.
It's sealed, made with two parts.
No holes to be seen, no design, no where that even looks as if it was attached.
Approx 20mm
Found using nox600
Full length+ of the Garrett carrot , so about 9 inch in sandy loamy constant pasture

(I'm tempted to Put it in the oven to dry out the water on the inside to then see if it rings. ;) )

I agree with Geoff, it does look like a carb float possibly from a b10 villiers carburettor. I hope this helps.

I think I have one on my excelsior consort motorcycle, well it has an engine,(98cc villiers),which urges it to the heady velocity of....about 28mph! rl;
