1st permission, unexpectedly.

Post by Metalmickey2359 » Fri May 24, 2019 11:06 am

I was chatting to a friend and asked him who owned a piece of land nearby. I expected him to say the county council. He told me he was the owner!
One thing led to another and 'Bingo', my first local permission.
What I am learning is not to expect an outcome until you've had the conversation! Excited!

Result!! Well done. Nothing better than word of mouth, so fill in the holes, be cordial and show him the finds and very good luck with it! ::g

Brad
Thanks

I would have thought that it goes without saying to fill in the holes. Holes may be a bit tricky to dig as its on clay. I had an allotment nearby a while ago and when it hadn't rained for a while it was a nightmare to weed... how can weeds poke through hardened clay? x;

Pleasant surprises don't come much better than that. Well done and here's hoping it's also a

It’s a playing field and I can fill my boots as long as I don’t dig the pitches! Looking at historical maps it was a field between two old main roads so there may be some good stuff around the perimeter, as well as trash! I don’t think it’s been ploughed or ‘detected’ since 1930ish as it would be have belonged to County Council. Looking forward to searching it. ::g

Whilst on a roll I contacted a local farmer who gives permissions for a small admin fee but, whilst being pleasant, he said he was full for this year and to contact him in January next year.
I’ve put a note in my diary to contact him mid December! :)
